EGW recommends making sure the threaded holes are completely clear of any debris before installing the rail. Place the rail on the receiver with the overhang facing forward, place a small dab of blue thread locker on the provided mounting screws and torque them to 20 in/lbs.

One of the most common problems with Savage Axis scope mounts is they don’t come with the correct mounting screws. Savage started manufacturing some Axis receivers with larger #8 screws. Not all aftermarket manufacturers have changed their scope mount designs, but we have! Our picatinny scope mounts for the Savage Axis all come drilled out for the larger screws. EGW provideS both the #8 and #6 screws as well, so no matter which model Axis you have, our base is guaranteed to fit!

This mount is ambidextrous.
EGW recommends measuring the hole spacing in your receiver to confirm it matches with the dimensions they have published.

Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount. Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights. Our one-piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and tactical shooters alike.

EGW machines these in their shop using one of their machining centers. After machining, the mounts are tumbled, sand blasted, and Type II anodized for long lasting durability.

Installation: EGW recommends 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite

EGW recommends:
0 MOA – if shooting 0-500 yards
20 MOA – if shooting 500-1000 yards

When zeroing your rifle with a 20 MOA mount, EGW recommends zeroing at 200 yards.
